| | What should I do if my limit order to buy an option (to open) doesn't get triggered? | | Make sure your order is in, with your broker, prior to the opening of Monday's session. Markets aren't known for waiting around until you find the most-convenient time to submit your order. But on occasion my target price doesn't get triggered during the recommended week. Some subscribers have bought anyway, at higher prices, and gone on to score great profits. Sometimes they regret it. I recommend always using limit orders (orders to buy only at your price or better) to initiate positions, because, with limit orders, you are always certain of your maximum risk. The downside of using limit orders is that, due to market conditions, your order may not be filled. It is up to each of you to decide how much you want to pay for a particular option, but my general rule is not to chase markets. There is always opportunity in options. If you miss one, just look to catch the next one. | | Back |
